OECD average maths score in PISA: 494 in 2012, 463 in 2025 (−6%)

The OECD average maths score of 15-year-olds fell from 494 points in 2012 to 463 in 2025, with reading at 461 and science at 482, the lowest values since PISA began in 2000. Scores were already slipping after 2012, the steepest drop came between 2018 and 2022, and Finland and Germany each lost 50 points in maths since 2012.
