After COVID-19, people were 21% more likely to start allergy medication

In a matched cohort of 778,362 people in Japan, those who had COVID-19 started new allergy medication (antihistamines, leukotriene blockers, allergy eye drops, nasal sprays) 21% more often than matched people without COVID-19. The effect was larger in people aged 65+ (+33%) and still visible after more than a year.
